Style Me Famous!

I love the "Style her Famous" show by Jay Manuel in which he makes people over to look like their favourite celebrity.  Now I don't do the whole following celebrity thing, but I do love the way some of them dress.  My three favourites are Jennifer Lopez, Iman and the character Joan Clayton from the tv show 'Girlfriends'.  I've found some cool pics; couldn't see anything really on Joan's wardrobe, but JLo and Iman adequately covered her slot!

What I love especially in the case of Jennifer is that she dresses to suit her shape, taste and personality.  She really knows herself well and as such knows exactly how to dress.  Interestingly, both Iman's and Jennifer's styles would really suit tall ladies.

Love this look. Would be great as a coat dress.

Looks great, very rock chick!

Love the cut of these trousers

Demure yet sassy!

Very goddess-like!

Classic black dress...works every time!

This brown halter neck would look fab with white linen trousers.

Love the whole look, particularly the cut of the jeans

Can you imagine how regal a tall woman would look in this outfit?

Great casual daytime look

Great cut, love this red!

Girly time!

Like every female I love to feel feminine in the clothes I wear, and nothing makes me feel more feminine that wearing a dress. But where does someone 6ft 8ins tall go to buy a dress that fits off the rack????!!!

Well surprisingly I found a high street store called Monsoon who do great dresses at middle-range prices. One of the dresses they had in a few years back actually came down to my feet; I kid you not!! Sizes range from size UK8-UK22

Check them out at www.monsoon.co.uk.

Tailoring

When I think about the plight of tall women and our clothing needs, I really do think tailoring is the best way to go. Pros = you get a garment that fits YOU beautifully. Cons = tailors can cost an arm and a leg.

What I will be doing is sourcing affordable tailors for us Glamazons for those all important occasions and everyday wear. Check these guys out: www.styleshake.com.

If you do use them please give me your feedback on how useful their services were for you.

Progress

Gone are the days, thank goodness, when it was difficult finding clothes that fitted taller women. We now have a whole plethora of online clothing stores and shops helping us out!

However, if you are like me, you may have found that things still don't fit quite the way you want them to. Thanks to a friend I have found a company that can tailor make clothing, including jeans and jackets, for tall women at a reasonable price.

Check out www.makeyourownjeans.com. I was excited that they could make jeans to fit, but I wanted to know if they did jackets, shirts and other trousers as well and they do.

If you do use this company, drop me a line with how well their products worked out for you.

Where I go shopping

Red is my favourite colour, but I don't like what they have done with this dress, it's too plain

The cut of this suit is a bit off. It could have been so stylish, sigh!

This outfit rocks, minus the flower on the left shoulder!!

Where I get most of my shoes
